One of the most active supporters of New Zealand’s top-level motorsport athletes, the Giltrap Group, has now turned its attention to fostering driver excellence where the best drivers get their start: KartSport.

Karting was that crucial first step for Brendan Hartley, Scott Dixon, Mitch Evans and Hayden Paddon. Today these drivers are on the world stage, and at some stage the Giltrap Group have been there with them.

Founded by Sir Colin Giltrap and run today by his sons Richard and Michael – the Giltrap Group is joining Dunlop New Zealand and Carter’s Tyre Service as founding members of a select “Paddock Club” to help KartSport New Zealand nurture and support the next generation of champions.

The Giltrap Group will supply KartSport with two Holden Colorados, which will be used to support the more than 200 KartSport events staged annually in New Zealand.

Giltrap Group Joint Managing Director Richard Giltrap:

“As the nursery of New Zealand Motorsport, KartSport’s work is vital to the continuing success of our country on the world stage. So, we are delighted to be able to play a role in helping KartSport provide the best possible environment for the next generation of racers.”

KartSport New Zealand President Graeme Moore:

“The Giltrap Group’s passion for Motorsport and commitment to helping our country succeed at the absolute pinnacle is already well known. So, to have them backing KartSport really is the ultimate endorsement. What really stands out, is that this partnership will help every single KartSport participant.

“Not every karter can become the next Scott Dixon or Scott McLaughlin, but the values and skills that this sport develops, helps to create outstanding young men and women who succeed in business and industry around the globe.”
