BMW 7 series parks itself

The introduction of Remote Parking continues the 7 Series story of technical innovation.

Remote Parking enables the vehicle to conduct driverless manoeuvres, giving it the ability to enter and exit confined spaces, for example, without a driver at its controls.

Remotely-controlled parking can be activated via the BMW Display Key. The driver points the 7 Series with its front facing the middle of a confined parking space, then steps out of the car to allow it to complete the park without direct driver control, or the need to open doors.

The driver is also able to remotely reverse the vehicle out of tight parking situations, removing the risk of body damage.

This system will be fitted as standard to all variants, bar the new 740e iPerformance plug-in hybrid
