Snow forced the abandonment of final free practice for this weekend’s Silverstone World Endurance Championship opener.

A total of 11 cars took to a wet track in the early stages of the one-hour session, but no driver completed a timed lap.

A first red flag came out after a handful of minutes when Anthony Davidson spun his Toyota TS050 HYBRID at Chapel Curve.

The session was restarted, but the red flags came out again after 20 minutes when sleet turned to snow.

The session was then abandoned with 15 minutes of its scheduled duration left to run.

Porsche set the pace in the opening two sessions on Friday.

Brendon Hartley posted the fastest time of the day in the #1 919 Hybrid with a 1m39.665s.

Weather forecasts are predicting that the precipitation will cease ahead of the start of WEC qualifying at 12:20pm local time.
