Whilst the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Concept hits the Goodwood hill this weekend (below) the much-trailed announcement confirming the launch of a full customer GT4 package has also broken.
The GT4 race car is being developed by TMG in Cologne with a race debut in 2019 looking more than likely.
The Supra looks set to become a familiar shape worldwide, in addition to the production-based car used by Toyota Gazoo Racing at the Nurburgring the GT4 will join ‘Supra-shaped’ racers in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series and, next season in Super GT’s GT500 class.
The GT4 car is car is powered by the twin-turbo 3 litre straight six engine from the Supra road car with the mandatory safety enhancements and a racing aero package including splitter, diffuser and rear wing.
