British driver Abbie Eaton and Porsche youngster Jaxon Evans will test with the Walkinshaw Andretti United Supercars squad at Winton on Tuesday.
The pair will share an evaluation day with the Holden outfit, in a Dunlop Super2 Series-specification VF Commodore.
Eaton is in Australia with her sights set on breaking into Supercars, having attended the Newcastle finale ahead of a test with Matt Stone Racing next week.
Evans won the 2018 Australia Carrera Cup title and then Porsche’s global Motorsport Junior Programme Shootout.
That puts him on a similar path to Matt Campbell, with Evans to race in the Porsche Supercup that runs on the Formula 1 bill in 2019.
Morris Finance, a shared sponsor between the team and Evans, is backing the test, while WAU enduro regular Warren Luff will be on hand.
Luff has already played a mentoring role in the career of 22-year-old Evans through the Porsche squad McElrea Racing.
The test will be both drivers’ first taste of a Supercar.
“It’s extremely exciting for our business to be able to have two young drivers of Jaxon and Abbie’s calibre in the car for an evaluation day,” WAU co-team principal Bruce Stewart said.
“Jaxon is someone we know well. We are delighted for him and the opportunity he has with the Porsche Motorsport programme in Europe, but would love to have him in a car if the opportunity ever arises, calendar permitting.
“Abbie has quickly become a friend of the team, and we were lucky enough to have her in the garage with us at Newcastle.
“We know she is exploring her options for the 2019 season, but it’s fantastic that we can provide the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Supercar for the first time. There’s no denying her ability.
“None of this would be possible without the support of Morris Finance.
“They have been a huge supporter of ours over the last eight-years, as well as Jaxon, once again going above and beyond to give back.”
Eaton will become the second international to complete a WAU evaluation day this year, following British Touring Car Championship driver Ash Sutton in March.
