Kiwi SuperKart ace Karl Wilson has won the annual Superstars of Superkarts race in the United States.
The two-time New Zealand Superkart title-holder did it in style too, finishing the 15-lap race at the Laguna Seca circuit in northern California on Sunday just shy of a minute (59.824 seconds) in front of second placed Dean Martin and over a minute in before third placed James Ingram.
Pole-man JR Osborne ran Wilson close all weekend, and was leading at the mid-way point of the final only to hole a piston and retire.
That left Wilson with a commanding lead, Martin, Ingram and fourth placed Ryen Miller the only other drivers – out of a field of 21 starters – to finish the race on the same lap.
