A collision between Nirei Fukuzumi and Tadasuke Makino looked pretty innocuous at first, but turned out to be a perfect example of how well the Halo can work.
In the damp first few laps of the Formula 2 sprint race in Barcelona, going off-line to try and overtake was tricky. Arden driver Fukuzumi found that out when he tried to pass Makino into Turn 4, but lost the back end and slid into the Russian Time driver, taking the pair out.
Looks like a pretty slow, unspectacular incident, right? Wrong. After the race, Makino shared some pictures on Twitter of his car which show exactly where the rear wheels of Fukuzumi’s car went during the crash.
