He’s only just confirmed his seat in the 2013-2014 Toyota Finance 86 Championship but Andy Waite has put his experience to good use, putting in a 1:14.962.
Former TRS racer Waite (pictured) is racing the ETEC car campaigned at the previous round by Ken Smith.
He has to reprise his leading form tomorrow for qualifying but there’s every indication the racing in the new one make series will be fast, clean and exciting with a throng of elite and amateur-class drivers aiming to preserve their championship points advantage over newcomer Waite.
They include current championship leader Tom Alexander of Christchurch and another former TRS racer, Jamie McNee, who were second and third fastest in the final session this afternoon.
