Finance Ezi Racing’s Andre Heimgartner claimed his maiden race win at the Coates Hire Ipswich 360 today.

A reverse top 10 grid placed the young Kiwi driver on ARMOR ALL Pole Position with Go Karts Go driver Drew Russell beside him.

Russell beat the teenager off the start, but Heimgartner had resecured the lead by the second lap and drove home to his first win when the race was called at its cut-off time.

Passing showers caused the delayed start which ultimately cut the race short, with drivers completing eight of what was meant to be a 14 lap race.

Daniel Gaunt followed into third in his Marque Management Holden.

Local Ipswich driver Ash Walsh had another consistent performance finishing fourth for the second time this weekend.

Championship leader Dale Wood finished in eighth after not making any ground with the reverse grid and Casey Stoner had his best race finish going from 17th to cross the line in 11th.

Steve Owen, Paul Morris, Jack Perkins, Wood, Aaren Russell and George Miedecke made up the top 10.

Taz Douglas and Andrew Jones headed to the pits after contact on Lap One and both Rodney Jane Racing cars headed off-track, spinning out during the race.

The Dunlop Series will be on track again this afternoon for the third and race at the Coates Hire Ipswich 360. Combined points from Race One and Two will make up the grid.
