The No. 99 ART Grand Prix McLaren MP4-12C GT3 was the fastest car in the pre-qualifying, ahead of tonight’s double qualifying session at Spa-Francorchamps.
An early lap of 2:20.944 for Kevin Korjus was enough to put his car on top at the end of the 60-minute session, finishing 0.041s faster than the No. 43 ROAL Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3. Maximilian Götz, driving the No. 86 HTP Motorsport Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, finished the session in third place, almost a tenth behind Korjus.
The top ten in pre-qualifying was separated by just over half a second, the top 20 within a second and a half. There was no major drama in the session, with ART Grand Prix working hard to repair the No. 98 McLaren.
Andrew Danyliw was involved in an accident in free practice, and his No. 50 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia briefly caught fire in the pre-qualifying session. The only yellows came out when the No. 8 Bentley went off at turn 9, but rejoined.
Qualifying starts at 8.45pm, followed by night qualifying at 10.30pm.
