Jean Todt is to remain President of the FIA after an official vote in Paris on Friday.
The Frenchman, who faced no opposition after main rival David Ward withdrew from the election process last month, was confirmed in his role on the final day of the Annual General Assembly.
He will now embark upon a second four-year term at the helm of the governing body.
“Thank you for so strongly endorsing our team,” said Todt after securing the position.
“We are both humbled and proud to have your trust to guide our great organisation for another four years.”
Todt, formerly Ferrari’s Team Principal, succeeded Max Mosley at the end of 2009.
