Reigning World Champion Marc Márquez continued his imperious start to the 2014 MotoGP season as he topped the second practice session at the Grand Prix of the Americas.
Márquez set a time of 2:03.490 to go over a second quicker than his nearest rival, Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso, during the 45 minute session at the Circuit of the Americas.
Dani Pedrosa was third, albeit 1.133s slower than Honda team-mate Márquez, with Pramac’s Andrea Iannone in fourth place.
Valentino Rossi was the fastest Yamaha in fifth place, ahead of Forward Racing’s Aleix Espargaró and LCR’s Stefan Bradl.
Jorge Lorenzo could manage only the eighth fastest time, while British riders Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith rounded out the top 10.
