Toni Vilander led the way in opening practice for Sunday’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
The flying Finn reeled off a best lap of 2:04.192 in his No. 88 Maranello Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 to go quickest in the one-hour session, which saw only a single red flag.
Vilander is sharing driving duties of the Ferrari this weekend with V8 Supercars stars Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup.
The No. 60 BMW Team SRM BMW M6 GT3 was second on the time sheets, ahead of the pair of Jamec Pem Racing Audi R8 LMS cars in third, and fourth.
The No. 23 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 made it three different manufacturers in the top-five overall.
No major incidents were reported, other than the No. 60 SRM BMW crawling to a halt with Steven Richards at the wheel, to bring out a red ten minutes into the session.
The Amateur-only session saw Russel Ingall lead the way, with a best lap of 2:06.439 in his No. 7 Team Castrol Vodafone BMW.
The next Free Practice session, for all classes, gets underway at 12:35 p.m. local time. .
