Checking in from Suzuka after another successful day on the race track!
Our only seat time today was qualifying, which consisted of a 15-minute session for each driver, with the aggregate times of drivers ‘A’ and ‘B’ combined to determine pole position.
My team mates Tatsuya Kataoka (in Car #28 with myself) and NOB Taniguchi battled it out in Q1 to give us a slim advantage by 0.008s at session’s end!
This gave me a solid platform for my session, and despite a pole lap that I was disappointed with, running wide onto the back straight and losing valuable time, we still took a convincing double pole-position for tomorrow’s two 60-minute, two driver races.
Anything can happen, but we are in a prime position to take our first win – or wins – of the season tomorrow.
