BMW Motorsport are drip feeding information out about their full 2017 plans.
An earlier release revealed that BMW Team Schnitzer and Team Director Charly Lamm will return to endurance racing but with no details over their 2017 race programme with the BMW M6 GT3.
Now we can reveal that the Schnitzer squad will be in the vanguard of BMW’s effort to record their 20th victory in the 2017 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
In addition they’ll be in action throughout the season in the ADAC GT Masters.
BMW Team Schnitzer, Rowe Racing and Schubert Motorsport will feature in future announcements of further programmes including the Blancpain GT Series and VLN.
One further announcement, former BMW Motorsport Junior Jesse Krohn will compete in a BMW M6 GT3 in the Nürburgring 24 Hours together with BMW’s 2017 DTM Works Drivers.
BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt:
“The BMW M6 GT3 made a successful all-round debut in 2016. We are aiming for more wins and titles next season with our top model in customer racing. The three teams, ROWE Racing, Schubert Motorsport and BMW Team Schnitzer all have a special role to play and will compete with this car in various series.
“After winning in Spa in 2016, we now want to continue our long-running success story on the Nordschleife. As far as teams and drivers are concerned, we are ideally equipped to do this.”
