K-PAX Racing has announced that three McLaren GT factory drivers will pilot its 650S GT3 in next month’s Sepang 12 Hours. Alvaro Parente, Shane van Gisbergen, and Côme Ledogar will share driving duties in what will be the Californian team’s first endurance race.
“This will be a great way to close out an already phenomenal year for us,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Alvaro and the team worked so well together this year in the Pirelli World Challenge Series and to have McLaren GT factory teammates Shane van Gisbergen and Côme Ledogar joining us will give us a very strong driver line up.
“Everyone at McLaren GT has been a huge help in supporting us and we are looking forward to not only racing some of the best GT3 teams in the world but also being the only American team competing in this event.”
K-PAX Racing won the Pirelli World Challenge championship this season with Parente, who will be re-united with his title-winning car at the event. Included in Parente, Ledogar and Van Gisbergen’s list of accolades this season with McLaren GT are the PWC titles, an overall victory at the Bathurst 12 Hour and the Blancpain Endurance Cup Teams Championship.
On track running at Sepang is set to start on Thursday the 8th of December, ahead of the race on Saturday which runs from 12:00pm and into the night.
