Kyle Busche holds on for NASCAR win in Kansas

Kyle Busch held off Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch to take NASCAR Sprint Cup glory at Kansas for the first time in his career.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver had to defend against the Stewart-Haas pair after they pitted for four tyres towards the end, when a late caution came out for Ricky Stenhouse who hit the wall coming out of the final corner.

Like Busch, Matt Kenseth also elected not to pit, but was unable to keep the hunters at bay on the way to his first top five finish of the season.

Pole man Martin Truex Jr led for the majority of the race (172 laps), but loose wheels after his second-to-last pit stop forced him to come back in, and after dropping down the order he ultimately finished 14th.

The only big drama in the race came when Denny Hamlin and Talladega winner Brad Keselowski made contact going three-wide with Kyle Larson, which spun them around and collected Joey Logano.

Both Logano and Hamlin were forced to retire along with Larson, who had been making good progress particularly on restarts up to that point.

Keselowski was able to continue and rounded out the top ten behind Chase Elliott.
