Sebastien Ogier will take on arch World Rally rival Sebastien Loeb in the Monaco Porsche Supercup event.
Loeb is contesting two Supercup rounds as part of his season of multi-discipline racing. He finished 11th in the Barcelona event last weekend.
Now Ogier has confirmed that he too will be racing in the series in Monte Carlo, driving for the Project 1 team.
“It will be a very special experience for me to experience Monaco from a non-rallying perspective for once,” he said.
“I sat in the Porsche for the first time last week at a test session in Hockenheim. Last year’s winner Sean Edwards gave me a few tips and I was coping really well by the end.”
He admitted that how he fared relative to Loeb would be of interest.
“I will obviously be keeping half an eye on Sebastien Loeb,” said Ogier.
“The desire to be better is always there – but Seb has much more experience on racetracks.
“With that in mind, I will be trying to enjoy the weekend and, as always, do my very best.”
Loeb has won two of the three WRC rounds that both he and Ogier have contested this season, beating the Volkswagen driver in Monte Carlo and Argentina, but getting defeated in New Zealand.
