Peugeot Australia has confirmed that its all-new 3008 SUV, featuring an all-Euro 6 petrol and diesel engine line up, will launch here in the first quarter of 2017.
With its name the only carry-over the all-new, French-designed and built 3008 SUV brings with it a new platform, new drivetrains, new technology, new design and an all-new focus.
Previously a derivative of an MPV, designers and engineers focused on the booming SUV segment for the second-generation 3008, ensuring its appeal to SUV buyers.
Underpinning the all-new vehicle is PSA’s EMP2 platform, a strong yet light design which has been critically acclaimed.
This modular platform already underpins three PSA vehicles sold in Australia, Peugeot’s 308 and Citroen’s Picasso and Grand Picasso pair.
Australian customers will be able to access the latest Euro 6 drivetrains with both a turbocharged 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel available on selected models.
Both drivetrains will be paired to a full-fluid, six-speed automatic transmission co-developed with Aisin.
Inside, the all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV is managed by Peugeot’s spectacular second-generation i-Cockpit® which puts within reach everything drivers need to access, all of it contained within a high-tech, high-quality niche.
Peugeot Australia General Manager, Kai Bruesewitz, said 2017 will bring with it a significant number of new and revised models for Peugeot but none more exciting than the all-new 3008.
“The launch of 3008 will coincide with a significant refocus and refresh of the brand and model line-up in Australia,” said Bruesewitz.
“The remainder of 2016 will be dedicated to preparing our business for the launch of two all-new models and a refresh to a further two model lines in 2017.
“With its all-new platform and drivetrains, combined with its French design and engineering, we are extremely excited about the all-new 3008 and believe that this is the Peugeot SUV Australians have been waiting for,” Bruesewitz added.
All-new 3008’s final pricing, model line-up and on-sale date will be confirmed closer to its 2017 launch.
