The hugely popular Suzuki Swift Sport Cup has confirmed it will run in conjunction with the V8 SuperTourer Championship from next season.
Shortly after Speedcafe.co.nz posted a story that Motorsport NZ had confirmed the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup for 2013, the one-make class had moved quickly to align itself V8ST.
“Alongside our existing backers like Castrol we can continue to offer valuable scholarship packages to bring the cream to the top and on to the bigger categories such as the V8 Challenge Cup and ultimately V8 SuperTourers,” series co-ordinator Paul Burborough said.
V8 SuperTourer chairman Chris Abbott acknowledged that the highly competition class will strengthen an already impressive undercard.
“We are delighted to have the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup series on board with us,” Abbott said.
“With Central Muscle Cars, NZ V8 Utes and the V8 Challenge Cup, race fans and television viewers will really have something to look forward to at V8 SuperTourer events in 2013.”
