Brad Mosen and CRC Synergy Racing took out 3rd place last night in the first of four International Meetings at Western Springs.
After two successful heat races early in the night, the team qualified fourth form the 41 entrants, a pole shuffle to grid the top eight saw Mosen retain his starting position of 4th in the 25 Lap feature race.
” The team has worked really hard over the last two weeks to get us into a position to be competitive for this series, the speed we had in the pole shuffle proved we have the goods says Mosen ”
The 25 lap feature race started well for Mosen, quickly taking 3rd position from past USAC champion Jerry Coons Jnr in the Spike Esslinger No 9 USA car.
As the laps counted down Mosen had No 1 NZ Michael Pickens in his sights, catching and making a clean pass to take 2nd position, with only 5 laps remaining, the top two New Zealand drivers jostled for position behind the current USAC champion and NASCAR star Kyle larsen, eventually Pickens taking back the position after a yellow flag, the final finishing order Larsen, Pickens, Mosen.
“We are really happy with tonight’s outcome, my guys did a great job and its great to be back at the pointy end of the stick, and especially in the company that’s here at the moment, we are all looking forward to getting back out there on the 29th “.
CRC Synergy Racing re-groups today with a quick turn around required for tomorrow nights 2nd International Meeting, The World 30 Lapper at Western Springs.
