Rising Christchurch motorsport ace Marcus Armstrong has been confirmed to drive in two Formula 4 series later this year.
The 16-year-old, who was added to the Ferrari Juniors programme in December, will drive for Prema in both the German and Italian F4 series.
Armstrong recently wrapped up driving in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand where he finished fourth on the table and second in the New Zealand Grand Prix.
He said he was pleased to be joining Prema for the season.
“There is a huge amount of knowledge and experience within the team, and it’s fantastic to share the same ambition,” he told Motorsport.com.
“We are hungry for results, which is something I have learned to love about Prema. They have a fantastic reputation and I can’t wait to learn and grow within the team.”
This is Armstrong’s first full season in single-seater racing.
Prema has had a strong history in the Italian and German series since they were set up in 2014.
That year they won the 2014 title with former TRS driver and now F1 driver Lance Stroll behind the wheel.
