Mitch Evans will compete for Campos Racing in GP2 this year with Sean Gelael as his team-mate.
Evans will be entering his fourth season in GP2 and switches to Campos from Russian Time, where he claimed four race victories over two years and finished fifth in the 2015 standings.
The 2012 GP3 champion and a protege of Mark Webber, New Zealander Evans had hinted at a switch to sportscar racing last year when he raced in the LMP2 category with Jota Sport and had two tests in Porsche’s 919 LMP1 car.
Instead he will continue in GP2 for another season, having already tested for Campos during the winter.
Gelael joins Campos after contesting five rounds of the 2015 season with Carlin, the team with which he also did a full campaign in Formula Renault 3.5 last year.
Spanish outfit Campos has secured a two-year sponsorship deal with Jagonya Ayam, the KFC Indonesia brand that has backed Gelael’s career.
Russian Time announced on Monday that Evans would be replaced in its line-up by former Sauber Formula 1 tester Raffaele Marciello.
