Cornerstone exhibitor the Giltrap Group will showcase a comprehensive range of exciting new models at this year’s CRC Speedshow in Auckland over the weekend of 19 and 20 July.
The Giltrap Group is a proudly family-owned New Zealand business which represents 13 brands across 10 dealerships and group marketing manager Anthony Glover confirmed this week that the company’s display would include the new McLaren 650S supercar and the new Porsche Macan compact SUV as well as new and current models from Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley and Audi.
Glover also said that the line-up of other models would remain fluid until the eve of the show, meaning other new models across the company’s range of sports and luxury brands might also share the spotlight.
“What I can definitely confirm is that we will have examples of all our key models across our premier brands’ range at the show. But depending on what other vehicles we can secure there might well be more,” Glover said.
In previous years the company has exhibited marques individually. This year, however, they are grouped together under the Giltrap Group banner.
“As CRC Speedshow is dedicated to everything to do with speed,” explains Glover, “we decided that we’d bring along some of the best/quickest sport/luxury vehicles in our line-up to highlight not only how varied our range of marques and models is, but also to showcase the differences in design and engineering excellence across the various marques.”
Glover says that each time a member company has exhibited at CRC Speedshow in previous years it has received excellent feedback – hence the group-wide commitment this year.
“CRC Speedshow is one of New Zealand’s premier automotive shows and as such provides us with a great opportunity to directly engage with enthusiasts who share our passion for the cars we import and sell. These are people who live and breathe cars and competition and we know, both from personal experience at previous shows and from the data we analyse afterwards, that you would have to go a long way to find a more committed, more passionate group.”
Spearheading the Giltrap Group presence at the show will be five new models:
· McLaren’s new 650S
· the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S and the Aston Martin Vanquish
· the Bentley Continental GTV8
· Porsche’s new Macan SUV
For most show-goers it will be the first chance they have – in this country at least – to see most of these new models. It will be the first time, for instance, that members of the general public get to see the all-new Porsche Macan.
CRC Speedshow director Ross Prevette says it’s an honour to have a company like the Giltrap Group exhibiting at the show and that like most show-goers he will be making a beeline to Hall 3 to check out cars he would otherwise only see in magazines or on the internet.
“Like any enthusiast I keep up with what’s going on in the car world but nothing beats that ‘wow’ factor when you see a car like a McLaren, Aston Martin or Porsche ‘in the flesh’ for the first time. Over the years we’ve had some stunning cars at CRC Speedshow but in terms in sheer numbers, and access to them, this year beats them all.”
The CRC Speedshow runs at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland over the weekend of 19 and 20 July 2014 with two new display halls bringing the total to five, hundreds of vehicles on display, opportunities to meet racing stars and to enjoy top-class entertainment in the Ideal Wheels live action arena.
