The FIA has confirmed that no teams will be running with front-and-rear-interconnected (FRIC) suspension at this weekend’s German Grand Prix, following preliminary scrutineering at Hockenheim.
Teams were warned, through a letter from FIA Technical Delegate Charlie Whiting, that FRIC could be deemed illegal from the event, and they subsequently failed to unanimously agree to delay a ban until the 2015 season.
McLaren was the first to confirm that it would be dropping FRIC, with Red Bull and Mercedes following suit.
And it has now been clarified that all 11 teams have made the call to remove the system from their cars.
“I can confirm that no car is fitted with a front to rear linked suspension system of any sort,” read a brief statement issued by FIA Technical Delegate Jo Bauer after Thursday’s pre-weekend checks at Hockenheim.
