FORMULA 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is reportedly under police investigation for filming himself riding a motorbike in New Zealand.
The New Zealand Herald reported that Hamilton, 31, came to the attention of police after uploading two videos to Snapchat of himself riding a Harley Davidson on an Auckland road.
A police spokesman told the Herald that the footage was being reviewed and they were prepared to take “any appropriate action”.
Using a mobile phone while driving was outlawed in New Zealand in 2009.
Hamilton had already had a rocky time during his NZ visit, having blown up about his treatment by staff at SkyCity casino. That incident was also reportedly related to phone use, with Hamilton trying to use his at a gaming table.
Hamilton is in New Zealand ahead of the Formula 1 season opener in Melbourne. The British superstar also found himself in hot water before the 2010 Australian Grand Prix, when he was stopped by Aussie police for fishtailing and doing burnouts in a Mercedes C63 sports car close to the Albert Park circuit.
