Australian Formula 1 driver Mark Webber has re-signed with Red Bull Racing for the 2013 season.
On the back of securing his second British Grand Prix victory, Webber confirmed that he will remain with the dual champion team for at least one more season, ending speculation that he could switch to Ferrari.
Webber says that he felt it was right to stay with Red Bull for 2013.
“I’m high on confidence at the moment and firing on all cylinders,” he said.
“I know the team well and I’m very comfortable here; we have grown together over the years and it feels like absolutely the right thing to stay with Red Bull for another season.
“The team is constantly working hard to improve in all areas and we’ve shown that together we can win races.
“It’s great to be able to make this announcement off the back of the win in Silverstone at the weekend and I’m looking forward to competing on the edge and pushing myself in every race again next season.”
Webber began his stint with Red Bull in 2007 and has scored nine Grand Prix wins. His best championship finishing position with the team is third in 2010 and 2011.
