Chip Ganassi Racing driver Scott Dixon ended up second on the charts after the morning session at Barber, and spoke about the differences he feels in the new Chevrolet aero configuration.

Commenting from Barber Motorsports Park on the first of a two-day test for the IndyCar teams, 3-time series Champion Scott Dixon said he expects tracks records to fall throughout the 2015 season.

Dixon started the test off with a good result in the morning session, coming a close second behind Team Penske driver Simon Pagenaud.

Motorsport.com reported earlier drivers calling the new aero configurations more physical to drive, Dixon focused on the speed of the car.

“The cars have more downforce now and are a lot more demanding to drive. Some of the corners here in the old cars were almost flat, and now they’re flat out when you go through them,” Dixon said.

“If this is any indication of the speeds, I think you will see a lot of track records broken this season.”

Dixon, along with his Chip Ganassi Racing squad will continue testing at Barber tomorrow, and then prepare for a final test at NOLA Motorsport Park in New Orleans before heading to St. Petersburg for the opening round of the 2015 IndyCar season.
