A tongue-in-cheek Tweet from his native US this week confirmed single seater star Wade Cunningham as team mate to brother Mitch in the Cunningham Motorsports Ford Falcon V8ST in the BNT SuperTourer enduros later this year.
In his ‘announcement’ he explained “It’s just nice to be recognised. I mean, they could have hired anyone and they chose me you know?
“Also, the fact that we come from the same parents really streamlines the whole seat fitting and driver change process.”
It is the second confirmation of endurance drives for the second half of the season after the final sprint round at Taupo on August 31st and September 1st.
The first of the enduro weekends takes place at Pukekohe on September 28 and 29 with only the Cunningham car and the Tasman Motorsports Group car of Dan Gaunt and Andrew Waite confirmed to date.
