Richards Team Motorsport have announced the signing of not just one but both championship winning drivers from last year’s two tiered NZV8s season.

Australian driver Jason Bragwanna who stomped to his TLX championship victory on the new layout of Pukekohe in April this year in front of a capacity crowd has signed to the Toyota based outfit leaving his Holden Commodore behind.

And winner of the 2013 TL class A J Lauder also jumps manufacturers with a move from Ford to Toyota filling the seat of the sister car and completing the all championship winning driver line up.

Both are inaugural winners of the now two-tiered class of the NZV8s Touring Class Championship which includes the older styled TL class featuring the classic Holden versus Ford battle, and is headlined by the stunning new generation TLX class.

The TLX class features a multi-manufacturers class including Ford, Holden and Toyota with Nissan set to join the series with cars being currently built to competition specifications.

With the hugely experienced V8 Supercars driver Bargwanna and the up-and-coming-fast Lauder teamed together in the Richards team Motorsport Toyota Camry’s the pair present an incredibly strong challenge to the other drivers, teams and manufacturers who make up the top tier of Motorsport New Zealand’s Premiere Race Championship Series.

While Bargwanna took out the first ever championship competing in the new generation cars, it was Lauder who set a new record of becoming the youngest driver ever to become an NZV8s champion doing so at the age of just 18.

This significant signing adds another exciting dimension to what is already expected to be a spectacular season for the NZV8s with Motorsport New Zealand’s Premier Race Championship season kicking off this weekend with Thunder in the Park at Pukekohe Park Raceway.

Thunder in the Park is held over the weekend of 16-17th November, tickets are available online at $15 per person or $20 at the gate on the day. Those under the age of 16 are free of charge.
