Super Black Racing has revealed a new lead sponsor – Ice Break Iced Coffee – and livery for its Ford Falcon for the forthcoming V8 Supercar season.
Ice Break has backed the Super Black Racing driver for 2016 Chris Pither for six years, including the two years in Aussie V8 Utes which culminated in the series title, in his Scholarship programme for young drivers in the series, which ran after he clinched the title, and more recently in the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series.
The brand, which is widely available in Australia and New Zealand, features heavily on the new look Super Black Racing Ford and it will be the first time the brand has been seen in the V8 Supercar series. The car will also include additional representation from team backers Only Domains, Auto Racing Tours, SLW Transport and Skye Sands.
Super Black has also just completed the purchase of its own Racing Entitlement Contract (REC) and will continue running as a satellite operation under the Prodrive Racing umbrella. The team ran Pither, 29, for the final two races of last season at Philip Island and Homebush, where he got up top speed quickly in his new mount showing strong practice and qualifying form and a top twenty finish in Race 35.
Ice Break’s Kellie Green was pleased to back Pither for the 2016 season.
“It’s great to continue our relationship with Chris as we enter the main game for the first time,” she said.
“He’s a brilliant ambassador for our brand on both sides of the Tasman and obviously a very talented driver.
“Chris is down to earth, hardworking and has a great attitude which he has proved to us time and time again, both on and off the track.
“We are thrilled to support Chris and Super Black on this next chapter of his racing career. It’s exciting times for Ice Break and we are looking forward to the start of the 2016 season.”
Looking ahead to his first full season in V8 Supercars, Pither added: “I’m very fortunate to have had the support of the Ice Break brand since 2010. They have been an integral part of my racing career since then and it’s fantastic they are taking the next step on the journey alongside myself and Super Black Racing.
“It’s an understatement to say we are excited and looking forward to the new season.”
