The Tasman Motorsports Group (TMG) Valvoline SynPower Ford will return to the V8 SuperTourer series this weekend, for Round 3 of the championship at Pukekohe.
Team Principal Steve Horne says he and the Tasman Motorsports Group team are eager to get started after missing the first two rounds.
“Myself and the whole team can’t wait to get racing again. The sponsorship market is quite tough out there at the moment, but we very lucky that we have some great and loyal partners onboard with us for the rest of the season.”
TMG will again be supported in the 2014 season by Valvoline, with major branding for their synthetic oil product ‘SynPower’ featuring heavily on the car.
Valvoline, a division of Ashland Inc, serves more than 100 countries worldwide and is a leading marketer, distributor and producer of quality branded automotive and industrial products and services.
SynPower represents the company’s global push for fully synthetic motor oils. SynPower has been formulated with full synthetic base oil and premium chemistry to stand-up to extreme temperatures and to flow when the engine is cool, and maintain its protection barrier as engine temperatures rise.
Valvoline New Zealand General Manager, David Olliff says he is pleased to support Tasman Motorsports Group for another season.
“Motorsport is part of Valvoline’s heritage. The brand has a strong presence in national and international motorsport events and we are excited to continue the partnership with TMG, to not only showcase the brand, but help boost the profile of our SynPower product here in New Zealand,” says Olliff.
Also returning to the team is Bauer Media with branding from their Autotrader.co.nz site. Autotrader.co.nz has seen unprecedented growth in the last 2-years, with the site now being the leading website for the buying and selling of cars in New Zealand.
Automotive repair franchise chain, Midas New Zealand has also recommitted their programme with the team, adopting to continue the highly successful exercise of having Midas mechanics working in the team on race weekends.
New to the team is Glasurit – a broad range of automotive refinishing products, approved for use by nearly all-leading car manufacturers throughout the world. A high quality paint finishing product, TMG will use it on the Valvoline SynPower Ford throughout the season.
Driving the Valvoline SynPower Ford for the 2014 season will be Andrew Waite, who has driven for the team over the last two years; with Horne saying the young driver deserves a shot at fulltime.
“Andrew has proved himself, has steadily improved and done whatever we have required him to do on track and away from it. I believe he deserves a decent shot, and will only get better with more miles in the car.”
