Three New Zealand drivers have picked up prizes at the British Racing Drivers Club Awards.

Brendon Hartley, Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy were all honoured at the club’s annual awards in London on Monday night.

Palmerston North’s Hartley was presented the prestigious Gold Star award, the club’s premier award.

The 26-year-old claimed the FIA World Endurance Championship title with his Porsche teammates Mark Webber and Timo Bernhard last month.

The award came just three days after the trio were offically presented with the World Endurance Championship trophy at the FIA prize giving.

Webber and 2015 Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton also received gold star awards on Monday.

Hamilton also picked up the Graham Hill Trophy and the Johnny Wakefield Trophy.

Auckland’s Cassidy won the Bruce McLaren Trophy, awarded to the Commonwealth driver who had the best performances in international motor racing.

The 21-year-old, who is the only New Zealander in the BRDC’s Rising Stars driver programme, won the 2015 Japan Formula 3 championship.

The award was won by Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo in 2014.

Auckland’s Evans won the Woolf Barnato Trophy, awarded to the highest-placed British or Commonwealth drivers in a British car in the Le Mans 24-Hour Race.

Evans, Simon Dolan and Oliver Turvey finished 10th in the race and second in their division while driving for British team Jota Sport.

Wanganui’s Earl Bamber won the Le Mans 24-Hour Race alongside Nico Hulkenberg and Nick Tandy for the German-based Porsche team.
