Ferrari has officially unveiled its new 488 GTE and GT3 cars that will debut in GT competition worldwide beginning next year.
Presented Saturday at the Ferrari World Finals in Mugello, the turbocharged Prancing Horses are slated to make their respective debuts in January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Both versions are nearly identical to each other, with the GTE version featuring a race-prepped 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, compared to a production-based unit of the same displacement in the GT3 challenger.
There are also slight bodywork differences between the models, with the GT3 car featuring more aero, per the regulations.
Testing and further development of the cars have continued since their first roll outs prior to the FIA Balance of Performance Test in September.
