Mika Hakkinen will contest the Zhuhai round of the GT Asia series in November.
The 1998/9 Formula 1 world champion is joining Erebus Motorsport for the Chinese event and will drive a SLS AMG GT3.
Hakkinen’s appearance is part of AMG Customer Sport’s launch in China.
He will share the car with 17-year-old Hong Kong Chinese driver Matthew Solomon.
Hakkinen previously appeared in a Mercedes GT car in the Zhuhai round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup two years ago.
