The Lago Racing Lamborghini of Peter Kox/David Russell/Roger Lago broke the qualifying lap record as it blitzed the Mount Panorama circuit in the first practice for GT3 machinery at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
The Lamborghini Gallardo, which has been reclassified as a Class B entry, posted a stunning 2m05.9377s time to break the qualifying lap record with David Russell at the wheel.
Maro Engel earned Erebus Motorsport second spot in the SLS AMG GT3 with a time 1.2 seconds slower than Russell. Nissan’s return to Mount Panorama has started promisingly with V8 Supercar star Rick Kelly posting the third fastest time overall.
The hour long session was interrupted by two red flag periods. The first was caused by Max Twigg when he spun the #69 Supabarn Porsche. Contact between the Ferrari 458’s of Vicious Rumour Racing and AF Corse brought a premature end to the free pratcie session.
M Motorsport’s Steven Richards was fourth fastest just ahead of Christopher Mies in the Marc Cini Audi R8.
AF Corse were sixth quickest ahead of the #63 Erebus Motorsport entry of Will Davison, Jack LeBroq and Greg Crick.
Vicious Rumour Racing, Maranello Motorsport and Phoenix Racing completed the top 10.
