Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates has added three-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon to the organizations TUDOR United SportsCar Championship roster for the upcoming Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga., on Oct. 4.

Dixon will join regular team drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the No. 01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost Prototype for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season finale.

Dixon has competed twice with CGRFS this season in a second Prototype fielded in the Rolex 24 At Daytona Int’l Speedway and also at the 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring (Fla.) Int’l Raceway.

“The Prototype is such a cool car to drive, and anytime I can come over to our IMSA program and help out I’m happy to do it,” Dixon said. “We’re in an odd situation being mathematically out of the championship hunt, so we can take chances and roll the dice a little in the race. The team is coming off a win in Texas at Circuit of the Americas and I’m looking forward to contributing at Petit and hopefully ending the season on a high note.”
