Formula E teams received their first cars on Thursday, as the series unveiled its new Donington base.
It marked the official launch of the FIA’s new electric championship, which is scheduled to visit 10 countries in its inaugural season, starting in China in September of this year and concluding in Great Britain in June 2015.
“Today marks a very significant milestone in the genesis of the FIA Formula E Championship,” said Formula E series chief Alejandro Agag. “In September 2013 we launched this incredible fully-electric 150mph car and after more than 3,000km of rigorous testing we’re delighted to be now handing them over to our 10 teams.”
Donington Park will play host to five pre-season test sessions on July 3, 4, 9 and 10 and August 19.
