Harley-Davidson, one of the world’s best-known motorcycle marques, is set to delight thousands of fans with confirmation they will again have a significant presence at this year’s CRC Speedshow.

The iconic motorcycle marque first appeared at New Zealand’s largest annual automotive and motorsport show in 2012 and returns again for the 2014 event, running 19 to 20 July at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds, to feature the recently-launched Project Rushmore Touring range.

Adam Wright, marketing director of Harley-Davidson Australia and New Zealand says: “We’re as excited as ever to be back at the CRC Speedshow in 2014 and welcome New Zealand’s motorcycle community to what is undoubtedly one of the best two-wheeled events in the country! It’s going to be a great weekend so we’d like to encourage everyone to visit the Harley-Davidson stand as we showcase our 2014 product line-up, including the newly launched Project Rushmore touring range.”

The Rushmore Touring bikes are packed full of new features including an air-cooled, high output, twin cam 103 cubic inch engine boasting 138 Nm of torque, along with the first and only, fully integrated voice recognition and touch screen system for music, GPS and phone.

“We’re sure Harley fans will enjoy the chance to visit the H-D1 Custom Shop – an interactive mobile showroom that brings to life the extensive 800-plus page catalogue of Harley-Davidson genuine motor parts and accessories – as well as browse the array of official Harley-Davidson merchandise on offer. What’s more, show-goers have access to the exclusive Harley-Davidson ‘jumpstart rider experience’, giving customers the opportunity to fire up the engine, twist the throttle and travel through the gears of a specially-designed, stationary bike to discover why there’s nothing like a Harley-Davidson motorcycle,” Wright adds.

CRC Speedshow director Ross Prevette welcomes the team from Harley-Davidson back to this year’s show.

“We saw more motorcyclists attend last year than any other year, so we were hell-bent on getting more motorcycle brands at the show in 2014,” Prevette says. “Harley-Davidson is a truly iconic brand and their motorcycles speak for themselves so we were ecstatic when we learnt of their attendance this year.

“This is definitely good news for New Zealand motorcyclists who are looking to view Harley-Davidson’s exciting new products alongside a wide range of other motorcycle brands, products and services all under the one roof.”

With Harley-Davidson the first major motorcycle manufacturer to confirm their attendance this year, motorcycle fans can expect to see many of the latest two-wheeled models for road, off-road, touring and competition, plus cool accessories and professional services at July’s CRC Speedshow to create one of the biggest motorcycle-oriented displays yet.

Prevette adds: “Our free motorcycle parking and helmet drop-off is hugely popular so those who ride their bikes to the show can take advantage of this service again this year.”

The CRC Speedshow runs at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland over the weekend of 19 and 20 July 2014 with two new display halls bringing the total to five, hundreds of vehicles on display, opportunities to meet racing stars and to enjoy top-class entertainment in the Ideal Wheels live action arena.
