Chip Ganassi Racing has announced that three-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon will remain with the team for the 2015 season.
Dixon joined Ganassi under the previous CART guise back in 2002, winning the title the following year and adding further crowns in 2008 and 2013.
The 34-year-old, also a winner of the prestigious Indianapolis 500, secured two race victories en route to third position in the 2014 standings.
“Although we finished 2014 strong, we didn’t have the year we wanted to, at least not by our standards,” Dixon commented.
“I know the team is focused and ready to go for 2015, and I’m honoured to be back driving the #9 again for the team.
“It’s really hard to believe this is my 14th year with Target Chip Ganassi Racing – it seems like only yesterday I was making my first start for them way back in 2002!”
“It will be great to see Scott Dixon back as the Target driver in the #9 car,” added team owner Chip Ganassi.
“He is such a talented driver that has quietly crept his way onto the list of all-time greats. 2015 can’t get here soon enough.”
GO SCOTT GO!!!!!
