Twenty One year old Mark Gibson from Team Gibson Motorsport in Taupo will join series regular and rookie Dominic Storey in the iSport Racing Falcon for the three V8 Supertourer Endurance events later this year.

Gibson, the 2012 New Zealand Elite Motorsport Academy winner is highly rated by Multiple New Zealand V8 Champion John McIntyre as a star of the future and is currently lying second in his first full campaign in the V8 Supertourer main support series the Cogent Challenge Cup.

Mentored and run by John McIntyre Racing, Gibson will make his V8 Supertourer debut on the 28th and 29th of September at Pukekohe where Storey has recently had his best results, qualifying 6th and scoring two top 9 finishes and where Gibson recently finished 3rd overall in a competitive field of NZV8’s at the ITM 400 weekend. The pair will certainly be looking to put this run of success into good form for their first V8ST endurance event together.

Gibson commented on the opportunity earlier in the week – “It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to be aligned with Dominic Storey and the iSport Racing team for the three endurance rounds. He has had a solid start to his V8ST campaign and looks to be heading in the right direction”

“I would like thank C B Norwood and my other great sponsors for their continued support as I move up into the V8 Supertourers.”

Storey is happy to have Gibson onboard – “I am really happy to be able to give Mark this opportunity, I have once been in his position and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity by John (McIntyre) last year, had that not happened I would not be where I am now. iSport can see the potential in Mark through his recent results and I am really looking forward to getting some great results over the three round endurance championship.”

iSport Racing are now heading into the final round of the sprint championship at Taupo Motorsport Park over the Father’s Day weekend where they hope Storey’s past Taupo results will allow him to move up the field further and end the round inside the top 10 in the Championship.
