V8 SuperTourer organisers today confirmed there will be 20 cars on the grid for the inaugural long distance meeting for the class – the Father’s Day 400 at Taupo from September 1-2.

A question mark was hanging over the availability of the Falcon that was campaigned in the sprint phase of the series earlier this year by Andy Knight, however the car has been deemed a definite starter.

The Falcon will be prepared by International Motorsport under team manager Nick Williamson however the squad has not divulged the identity of the drivers.

International Motorsport last week announced their existing Falcons will be drive by Matt Halliday and Ant Pedersen while Wade Cunningham will be paired with Jonny Reid in the other Ford.

“I know the car is a definite starter but the team are not sure of the drivers,” V8 SuperTourers chief executive Didier Debae said.

“I need to get the names because we need to print the drivers names for the panels on the garages so hopefully we will know who they are soon.”

The third International Motorsport entry is one of the only undecided driver line-ups with a co-driver for Geoff Emery in the second Supercheap Auto Commodore also awaiting notification.
