Rain interrupted qualifying at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 leaving an interesting top 10 to contest this afternoon’s shootout.

A number of drivers chose to ‘bank’ a lap with their eyes on the weather radar, with early fast man Fabian Coulthard topping the session with a 2min06.1838.

The water started falling at the top of the mountain mid-way through the 30-minute run, leaving stars down the order, with Mark Winterbottom 14th, Craig Lowndes 15th and Garth Tander 22nd.

However their teammates in David Reynolds, Jamie Whincup, and Tim Slade and Lee Holdsworth made it into this afternoon’s one-lap dash.

After the session was declared wet, and a handful of cars tried to have a go on wet weather tyres, but were unable to move up the order.

Four of the five manufacturers made the shootout, with Erebus narrowly missing out with Will Davison in 11th.

The cars will run in reverse order for this afternoon’s ARMOR ALL Top 10 Shootout:

10. James Moffat
9. Lee Holdsworth
8. David Reynolds
7. Scott McLaughlin
6. Jason Bright
5. Scott Pye
4. Jamie Whincup
3. Tim Slade
2. Shane van Gisbergen
1. Fabian Coulthard.
