SVG snags Clipsal pole, 3 Kiwis in ‘the ten’

Controversial New Zealand driver Shane Van Gisbergen has grabbed pole posiiton for the V8 Supercars opening round race in Adelaide tomorrow.

Second fastest in today’s top-ten shoot out was Ford driver Mark Winterbottom followed by Holden’s Craig Lowndes who was quickest in the qualifying session.

Van Gisbergen late last year walked away from Ford team Stone Brothers Racing … citing burn out.

But months later he controversially joined family owned Holden outfit Tekno Autosports for the 2013 season.

There will be a 250km race on Saturday and another on Sunday.
