Tasmanian fans can celebrate the arrival of the V8 Supercars on Wednesday when they roll into Launceston for the annual Transporter Parade, ahead of this weekend’s Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint.

The multi-million dollar procession of the V8 Supercar heavy haulers marks the start of Tasmania’s largest annual sporting event, with thousands of locals and visitors lining the Launceston streets each year to salute their favourite teams as they convoy into town.

This year, the impressive roadshow will begin at Symmons Plains Raceway at 3.15pm on Wednesday, with the transporters heading into Launceston via the Midland Highway, down Wellington Street, and then along the East Tamar Highway before looping around at the George Town Road turn off to return to the track.

V8 Supercars Event Manager Rachael White said the impressive spectacle of the Transporter Parade was an experience race goers shouldn’t miss.

“The Transporter Parade is a favourite amongst V8 Supercars fans and is a great way to get the adrenalin-pumping ahead of an action-packed race weekend at Symmons Plains,” said White.

“These transporters are impressive machinery that complete thousands of kilometres each year hauling the V8 Supercars and their equipment across the country, and it’s fantastic that the crowds come out in their droves to celebrate the transporters’ arrival at each stop on the calendar.

“Launceston continually embraces the roadshow each year, and this year there are a number of key viewing points along the route to give locals the best opportunity to witness the convoy roll into their town.”

Spectators are encourages to gather at Pert – North of the Newnhan Link on the banks of the Tamar River – and the Tasmania Polytechnic Alanvale Campus (along George Town road) for prime viewing of the parade.

Don’t miss the 2015 V8 Supercars Transporter Parade roll into the city of Launceston ahead of the Tyrepower Tasmania Super Sprint, March 27-29.

Stay tuned to FOX SPORTS from Friday to Sunday for live coverage of the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint. Fans can also follow the action on Ten and One with highlights packages each day.
