Kiwi driver Ant Pedersen will step into the #38 Marque Management/Eggleston Motorsport Triple Eight Built Holden in the Dunlop Series round at Winton Motor Raceway this weekend, competing alongside Jack Perkins.
Though he hasn’t raced in the Dunlop Series since 2010, Pedersen impressed on his debut that year where he placed equal third for the round at the Clipsal 500.
He is no stranger to V8 Supercars and is currently contesting the V8 SuperTourers series in New Zealand, sitting second in the Championship behind Greg Murphy.
“It’s been a while since I’ve raced in the Development Series, so I’m really pumped to run this weekend at Winton in a V8 Supercar again with such an up and coming team,” Pedersen said.
“Obviously I am not in the championship race, but am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of one of the fastest Holdens in the field to log some quality miles.”
Daniel Gaunt has driven the #38 since the start of the season but has moved to Evans Motorsport Group for the Winton weekend.
Eggleston Motorsport Team Manager Rachael Wagg praised Gaunt’s efforts for 2013 and said the team was looking forward to welcoming young kiwi star Pederson.
“Ant has obviously showed he is a very skilled driver with his results in New Zealand and we are confident with the pace of our Triple Eight built Holden that he will be competitive and will benefit hugely, having a teammate like Jack Perkins,” Wagg said.
Since introducing two Triple Eight built Holdens to the team’s line-up at the start of the season, the team has performed consistently well, which has resulted in a a substantial number of enquiries from drivers wanting to get behind the wheel in both the 2013 and 2014 season.
Due to the high level of interest, the team will be conducting a test and evaluation day in the next two months to test drivers for the 2014 season.
Round Five of the Dunlop Series will be held this weekend at Winton Motor Raceway from Friday.
