V8 Supercars Championship team Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport has confirmed it will expand from one to two cars for 2015.

First established in 2010, LDM previously ran two cars in the 2013 season.

The team handed back one licence – or Racing Entitlements Contract, as they are officially known – to V8 Supercars at the completion of that season.

In a statement issued overnight, V8 Supercars and LDM confirmed that a legal disagreement was resolved and LDM had regained the REC to use in 2015.

“V8 Supercars and Lucas Dumbrell Investments have agreed to a settlement of their legal actions,” the statement read.

“The settlement will result in Lucas Dumbrell Investments having the right to race two cars in the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship. The terms of settlement are confidential and the parties will make no further statement.”

Teams were required to submit entries for 2015 by December 1, with 25 applications received.

The final grid will be unveiled once the process is completed by the V8 Supercars board.

Veteran racer Russell Ingall has driven LDM’s Repair Management Australia sponsored Holden Commodore VF in 2014.

He is expected to retire from full-time V8 Supercar competition at the completion of the 2014 grand finale, this weekend’s Sydney NRMA 500.

Ingall’s expected departure means two seats open up on the grid for next season, with a number of drivers on the look-out for a seat.
