Kelly tops second session at V8 SuperTest

Rick Kelly has topped the second consecutive session at the sydney.com SuperTest.

The Nissan Altima, with a revised aero package for 2015, recorded a 1min30.1922 lap around the 3.93km Sydney Motorsport Park circuit, 0.4sec faster than Kelly’s earlier time this morning.

Kelly was followed by Shane van Gisbergen, 0.66sec adrift in his orange Darrell Lea Commodore.

Chaz Mostert came home third, as the Pepsi Max Crew tames the Ford Falcon FG X in its first true hit-out this weekend, ahead of reigning champ Jamie Whincup, who had a spin midway through the session.

Michael Caruso’s entry was shared with 2014 co-driver Dean Fiore through the session, and landed fourth in the order, with Jason Bright, Scott McLaughlin, Lee Holdsworth, Mark Winterbottom and Marcos Ambrose completing the top 10.

Fiore wasn’t the only co-driver behind the wheel, with Jack Perkins (Holden Racing Team), Alex Davison (Erebus) and Taz Douglas (Nissan – with James Moffat) racking up some laps; Brad Jones’ son Macauley also clocked up some miles in Dale Wood’s Commodore.
