Team TEKNO VIP Petfoods driver Shane van Gisbergen has won two from two at the 2014 Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
The Kiwi led Red Bull Racing Australia’s Craig Lowndes home by 0.55 seconds, with fellow New Zealander Fabian Coulthard (Lockwood Racing) not far behind in third.
Van Gisbergen started from pole position for the rolling start, with Scott McLaughlin alongside.
The pole sitter got the jump, with both Lowndes and Coulthard swamping the Volvo young gun on the first of the 12 laps.
Michael Caruso and his Nissan finished fourth, with McLaughlin dropping back to fifth, Garth Tander, Jamie Whincup – who was handed a five grid spot penalty after contact with McLaughlin in the first race, Jason Bright, Chaz Mostert and Will Davison completing the top 10. Once again, all five manufacturers feature.
Others to note include Mark Winterbottom and James Courtney, 14th and 15th respectively.
Scott Pye had early dramas, starting from pit lane because of a starter motor issue.
Grid positions for tomorrow’s race are calculated from Race One and Two results – keep your eye on the Race Three results page to see the grid, it will appear once finalised.
The MSS Security V8 Supercars Challenge continues tomorrow, with Race Three at 3.25pm local time.

Fantastic job shane van giz , awesome job for tekno vip pet foods & yourself of course, such a shame this legal crap with Erebus etc continues, no wonder shane wanted to walk away from v8 supercars & just drive race cars , big thanks should go to jono Webb for returning shane to V8sc so quick & not allowing motorsport politics to destroy his joy of the sport .
