There has been speculation about the inclusion of V8 SuperTourers in the V8 Supercar event at Pukekohe on 12-14 April 2013.
MotorSport New Zealand is contracted to provide officials and, in consultation with V8 Supercars, all the New Zealand support classes for the event.
V8 SuperTourers approached MSNZ three weeks ago to explore the possibility of inclusion in the V8 Supercar event. It has been decided that at this stage in the process MSNZ was not prepared to include it ahead of support categories that have previously supported the V8 Supercar event.
MotorSport New Zealand’s goal is to continue to work constructively with NZV8s and V8 SuperTourers.

Well, how about a show of good faith to all concerned and MAKE it possible for the V8ST /NZV8 in both cases, Taupo and Puke. The fans need racing not fighting, we all know there is faults on both sides but lets be positive for the future good.
MSNZ should overcome the issue it faces and all work together for OUR racing and the credibility of NZ motorsport.
Col Ray.
Just let there be racing for the people who attend. It would be great for everyone to see what NZ has to offer.
MSNZ….GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!
All we want is to see race cars RACE not EGOOOOOs from MSNZ
I think if you talk to those envolved NZV8′s have made the offer to many of the V8ST drivers to come & join in with thier meetings, but the V8ST drivers can’t afford to break thier contracts let alone run thier cars. Unfortunitly for all the fans TV3 keep making false statments regarding the V8ST ie: that they will be included at The Super Car event at Pukekohe. I don’t believe this was ever the case & it is high time TV3 got thier facts straight before openining thier mouths. NZV8′s has had 2 meetings this year & whilst there were only 3 of the TLX cars there, there are more to come & the class will only get get stronger. Who would want to own a V8ST at the moment, with only possibly 2 rounds confirmed this year & twice the investment of a NZV8.
NZV8 is a joke.So is MSNZ. NZ Supertourers is the premium product in NZ V8 racing. It has the best drivers and teams in the country by a long shot.I saw 9 cars racing NZV8′s last year, its pathetic,V8 Supertourers can put up a guaranteed grid of between 20 to 24 or more cars, why wouldnt you want to watch that over the meagre half dozen or so used old taxis that MSNZ and NZV8 can muster up…Put the premium series on display and let the fans vote with their feet their bums on seats and their money…Its no contest,NZV8′s and MSNZ know they are beaten, they just dont know how to bow out graciously.Sore losers.
